Brandware Public Relations

Brandware PR is a PR firm headquartered in Atlanta, GA specializing in automotive, affluent lifestyle, finance, healthcare, and technology products and events. Public Relations was a whole new ball game for me. I didn't have a complete understanding of what exactly PR meant or accomplished when I started at Brandware PR. But there I was, a recent college grad living in a big new city, exploring uncharted territory.

Shortly after arriving at Brandware and meeting the team, I was handed the reigns on Brandware's Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest accounts using Hootsuite as the managing software. Every day started with reading the news related to our client's industries and checking Google Alerts to find relevant and meaningful content that our client's would want to read. My first client handed over to me was Tire Rack Street Survival, a "not your average" driver's ed class for teens. I was able to obtain numerous online hits and news broadcast stories in the local cities hosting the event. Examples of these broadcast stories can be seen on my Portfolio page. I was constantly engaging in media relations to pitch news stories, coordinate client interviews and develop relationships with the press. I also worked with Penguin Brand Dry Ice updating and writing copy for their website and blog. My last client, Applied Silver, was assigned to me during my last week on the job. Applied Silver had created a new laundering process for medical facilities called SilvaClean. I was tasked with writing a press release, acquiring a trade show booth, pitching stories to journalists and scheduling interviews with journalists at the trade show. Overall, I came out a more educated and skilled writer and communicator gaining more and more confidence with each media hit.
